1 Word Boxes- Write your words. Then make boxes around each letter.
Name:____________________________ Pick any 4 activities to complete for spelling this week. Turn in all your spelling activities on Friday. Highlight your square when you are finished. You may not use a square you have already used. Parents, please review the spelling activity your child has chosen, as some boxes require your signature. MP1 Week 4-6 Rainbow Words- Write your words and trace over them in 3 different colors. Ransom Words- Cut letters out of newspaper, magazines, or write them out on paper and cut them, then glue them together to build your words. Look/Say/Cover/Write/Check- You may get the activity sheet from your teacher or you can do it on your own in your notebook. Tracing Words- Trace your words in sand, on felt, in the carpet, using your finger. Parent initials required in your spelling notebook. Word Search- Create a word search on puzzlemaker.com. Find your words. Font-abulous- Type your words in 3 different fonts on the computer. Paste it in your notebook. 3 Way Words- Write your words three ways, really big, really small, and in your best handwriting. Word Boxes- Write your words. Then make boxes around each letter. Ex. h a p p y Trace & Spell- Have someone write your words neatly. Trace the words spelling out each letter in the word. Spelling Sentences- Write the word, use it in a sentence, write the word. Ex. cat I have a cat named Bangs. cat Record & Spell- Tape record yourself spelling your spelling words. Play the tape again and spell along. Magnetic Letters- If you have magnetic letters, use them to build your spelling words. Trace the word into your notebook. Word Chains-Write down each spelling word. Change one letter to make a new word. Challenge: See if you can go back to your original word. Ex. cake, lake, late, date, mate, make, Spell & Brush- Spell your words while brushing & flossing your teeth. Parent initials required in your spelling notebook. Create your own Whack a word mat. Have someone tell you the word as you tap it out. Parent initials required in your spelling notebook. Around and Around- Start writing your words in a large circle and continue until you reach the center of the circle. Pretest- Take a pretest. Check over each of your words. Write any incorrect words 3 times each. Pyramid- Write your spelling words 1 letter at a time. Example: C Ca Cat Draw a tree and leave. Write the words in each leaf falling off the tree. ABC Order- Write your words in abc/alphabetical order 3 times
