5. 5 Step Coaching Model Context Clarify
What topic are we now going to work on and why is it important.
Clarify
During this step it is important to clarify what the goal of the coaching is as well as the facts about the current situation.

6. 5 Step Coaching Model Create
Once you and your team member have clarified where you are headed, where you are and what might get in the way it’s time to to explore some potential routes between where you are and where you need to be.
Help your team member generate as many good options as possible, and discuss these.

7. 5 Step Coaching Model Commit
During this step your objective as coach is to get your team member to commit to specific actions and determine how you will measure progress.
Document these actions for follow up.

8. 5 Step Coaching Model Close
This last step is just about wrapping up the coaching conversation, expressing support and confidence in your team member.

9. Summary Establish the goal of the coaching conversation.
Focus on asking questions not providing solutions.
Don’t skip any of the 5 steps. Go back if necessary.
