Streaming videos are helping learners to understand complex concepts and procedures1. Over recent years, cellular phones and internet have become an essential communication and educational tool2. Utilising the internet and smart phone technology, it is now possible to deliver medical education without any time and place constraints2. Compliance Aims and Objectives 1, To create an awareness among the junior surgical trainees of the availibity of online surgical videos. 2. To examine the perceptions of selected surgical trainees regarding current training methods and their experience of online surgical training. 3, To evaluate stakeholders experience and satisfaction regarding the content, the quality and impact of just on time, just in place, online video streaming content, on the surgical training Figure 1 showing online minor operative video HSE Change Process HSE Change Model3 was used to guide the process. 1 Initiation - Prepare to lead the change - Identify need / purpose of change - Identify key stakeholders/resources - Use PESTLE / Force field analysis Presentation of proposed change Methods Planning Figure 2 showing RCSI new online portal Scissors icon link to surgical procedures 2 Survey was performed to achieve the aims and was send to basic surgical trainees through survey monkey. Following major questions was asked Q1 – What mobile phone you use? Q2 – What is preferred way of learning the surgical skills? Q3 – Are you familiar with RCSI surgical skills videos? Q4 – Do you find the videos helpful? Conclusion - Build commitment / develop a vision - Involve key stakeholders - Conduct readiness and capacity for change assessment - Devise education programme format, delivery and content Using the HSE model of change the video online surgical education program was implemented successfully with positive benefits to the organisation, and the service user, and a positive reaction to the change project by stakeholders. 3 Implementation References - Run education programme - Support staff Maintain communication s etc. Implementation 1.
