2. Introduction
An introduction paragraph should introduce the reader to the subject. Ex: Person you admire
Explain why you selected this person
Include a thesis statement that explains the main idea of the essay and controls the idea of the paper.
Ex: Derek Jeter is the best New York Yankee of all time because he is a future Hall of Famer, won five World Series rings and was the team captain.

3. Body Paragraph
A strong body paragraph explains, proves, and/or supports your paper’s argumentative claim or thesis statement.
Example: Derek Jeter is the greatest New York Yankee because he won five World Series rings. He is one of only a handful of Yankees to ever win that many World Series rings………

4. Conclusion Paragraph
A conclusion paragraph is the last paragraph in an academic essay and generally summarizes the essay, presents the main idea of the essay, or gives an overall solution to a problem or argument given in the essay.
Example: Although there have been many great New York Yankees throughout history Derek Jeter is the best. He is not only a caring person that gives back to the community but was a leader on and off the field. He’s a role model and exemplifies what all athletes should strive to become. He is a future Hall of Famer, won five World Series rings and was the team captain.
