VI International conference “International conference “Architecture and landscape – base of sustainable development of cities” September, 12–14, 2016 The International conference «Megacities 2050: environmental consequences of urbanization» was held at the Agrarian-Technological Institute of RUDN, September, The conference was attended by specialists in the field of ecology, soil science, landscape design and sustainable development from Italy, Netherlands, USA and leading Russian universities, institutions, organizations in the field of environmental design, landscaping and green management. The conference was also attended by the leading highly-cited scientist, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, professor of the Tuschia University (Italy) Riccardo Valentini. Conference materials were published in WoS (Springer).

Students contest workshop «European traditions in urban planning and design» 7.11.2016 г.
Students contest “European traditions in urban planning and design” was held on the bases of the Department. The purpose of the Students contest was to study the ways to develop the Sosenskoye urban territory of Moscow TiNAO district. In the contest students from the leading universities and colleges of Moscow participated.

The round table «Studying megacities in EU: developing joined educational programs» г. From 11 to 12 November 2016, an international round table: "Studying megacities in EU: developing joined educational programs" was held on the basis of the the Agrarian-Technological Institute in cooperation with the Department for International Scientific and Educational Cooperation of the RUDN University of Russia within the framework of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet project. There were 50 participants on the round table. The reports were presented by coordinators and participants of international educational programs from Russia, Netherlands, Italy and China. Within the framework of the round table, the prospects of cooperation of the RUDN with foreign partners in the scientific and educational spheres were discussed. One of the event tasks was to create an international consortium to participate in the project Erasmus + Capacity Building.

The round table «Technologies and art of landscape architecture: adapting European experience» (Green economy and green infrastructure for sustainable urban development) February, 3-14, 2017 From 3 to 14 February 2017 on the basis of the Department held a round table «Technologies and art of landscape architecture: adapting European experience» (Green economy and green infrastructure for sustainable urban development). The purpose of the round table was to create a platform for discussion, coordination and interaction of various target groups interested in sustainable development of the cities – politics, science and business. During the round table the prospects for interaction between domestic and foreign companies, profile universities and city authorities were discussed to introduce new 'green' technologies for sustainable development of new urban areas and, above all, of New Moscow.

SUITMA 9 International congress «Urbanization as a threat and opportunity for soil functions and ecosystem services», May, 22-26, 2017 SUITMA 9 International congress «Urbanization as a threat and opportunity for soil functions and ecosystem services» was organized by the RUDN University in Moscow from to The scientific section "Urbanization and Sustainable Development of European Cities" was organized at the congress. The international congress was attended by 214 scientists from 25 countries. Congress materials were published in WoS (Springer) and in the special issues of Scopus journals: Journal of Soils and Sediments (IF=2.0; Q1), Journal of Environmental Quality (IF=2.5; Q1) and Eurasian Soil Science (IF=0.8; Q2).
