Dr. Weakley received a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Texas at Austin in the Plan II Honors Program. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas where he was an Alpha Omega Alpha graduate. After medical school, Dr. Weakley completed an internship at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas in Dr. Weakley completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 1988, and in 1989 he completed a Pediatric Fellowship at the Children’s Hospital National Medical Center, Washington, D.C. under Marhsall M. Parks, M.D. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Weakley returned to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in 1989, and currently is a Professor of Ophthalmology and Chief of the Clinical Service of Ophthalmology at Children’s Health System of Dallas. He has numerous scientific articles and book chapters in the field of Pediatric Ophthalmology. Dr. Weakley is currently a member of the AAO, AAPOS, and AOS. He has been an associate examiner for the ABO since He is a member of the American Orthoptic Council and on the board of editors of the Journal of AAPOS.
Serena Wang joined the U.T. Southwestern faculty in November 2006, following a successful private practice in Dallas and Plano for the previous two years. Dr. Wang has trained extensively at UT Southwestern, completing her ophthalmology internship and residency, as well as her pediatric ophthalmology and corneal and external disease fellowships, here. Dr. Wang also has a strong research background in pediatric ophthalmology, especially in the treatment of pediatric cataracts. She completed a research fellowship at the Storm Eye Institute, Medical University of South Carolina in Passionate in her care of pediatric ophthalmic patients, Dr. Wang is known for her caring approach. She specializes in the treatment of pediatric eye diseases with a special focus on pediatric cataracts and adult strabismus. Dr. Wang is currently seeing patients at Children's Medical Center at Legacy, and Children's Medical Center Dallas.
Kamel Itani, MD is board certified and specializes in Oculoplastics. Dr. Itani attended medical school at American University - Beirut (1982), Residency American University Medical Center (1986) and UT Southwestern Medical Center (1993), Ophthalmology, Ophthalmology and completed Fellowships in the following specialty areas; University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (1987), Standardized Ophthalmic EchographyFellowshipUniversity of Michigan Hospitals & Health Centers (1989), Eye Plastic, Orbital, & Reconstructive Surgery.

2. Jess T. Whitson, M.D., is a Board Certified Glaucoma specialist & Professor of Ophthalmology in the Department of Ophthalmology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He completed his undergraduate and medical degrees at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and a residency in ophthalmology at UT Southwestern. Dr. Whitson went on to a yearlong glaucoma fellowship in the Department of Ophthalmology at Emory University in Atlanta.
Yu-Guang He, M.D., specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of vitreoretinal disorders, both acute and chronic in nature. A faculty member in the Department of Ophthalmology at UT Southwestern Medical Center since 2001, Dr. He remains fascinated by ophthalmology and the extent to which eye disease oftentimes involves more than the body’s visual system.
Nick Hogan, MD, PhD, specializes in Ophthalmology, Neurological Surgery, Neurology & Neurotherapeutics, Pathology. Dr. Hogan attended Medical School at George Washington University School of Medicine (1990), He completed his Residency at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School (1994), Ophthalmology and completed fellowship at the following programs: University of Texas Southwestern Medical School (1995), Neuro-ophthalmology Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (1996), Ophthalmic Pathology/ocular Oncology Massachusetts General Hospital (1996), Ophthalmic Pathology
Jennifer Cao, MD is a board certified Adult & Pediatric Ocular Immunologic Diseases Cataract Surgery & Lens Implants Comprehensive Ophthalmology IntraOcular Lens (IOL) Ocular Cicatricial Pemphigold Par Planitis Scleritis Uveitis Vasculitis White Dot Syndromes specialist. Dr. Cao attended Medical School at Baylor College of Medicine (2010), completed her Residency at the University of Colorado Denver (2014) and completed a Fellowship at Massachusetts Eye Research & Surgery Institution (2015), Uveitis & Ocular Inflammatory Disease.

3. Dr. Steven Verity received a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He began his career in ophthalmology research at the Doheny Eye Institute in Los Angeles as part of a federally funded NIH grant in Refractive Corneal Surgery. After developing techniques in corneal preservation, Dr. Verity moved to New Orleans where he joined the research team at the LSU Eye Center. Here he continued to work in the research labs while studying at the LSU School of Medicine. Dr. Verity applied tissue preservation techniques to a developing refractive corneal surgery procedure known as "epikeratophakia". After medical school, Dr. Verity completed an internship and residency program in ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. During this period of time, he expanded his research focus to include aspects of corneal healing and repair. Dr. Verity entered a two-year fellowship in cornea/external disease and refractive surgery at the Saint Louis University Eye Institute. After completion of the fellowship, Dr. Verity remained as full-time faculty of the Saint Louis University School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Verity has authored several chapters for medical textbooks in ophthalmology and has published numerous scientific articles in the ophthalmic professional journals.
