2 The Battle for Your Identity

3 journal 7/16/2015 …Then I heard the Lord. He said,
“I need you to believe that you are great.”   It was like it was really important, not only for myself but even was going to effect many other people.  So  - I AM GREAT!

4 Numbers 13:32 So they gave out to the sons of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone, in spying it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants; and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great size.

5 Numbers 13:33 There also we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak are part of the Nephilim); and we became like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.

6 saw ourselves as grasshoppers
takes a huge leap for a grasshopper to conqueror a giant.

7 our enemies saw us as grasshoppers
are you sure? The devil is terrified of you… that you might actually know who you are in God.

8 Numbers 14:1 Then all the congregation lifted up their voices and cried, and the people wept that night.

9 Numbers 14:2 All the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron; and the whole congregation said to them, “Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or would that we had died in this wilderness!”

10 identity problem regret feeling stuck I just don’t have what it takes.
I don’t have the resources to do this.

11 The identity problem of 10 leaders kept an entire generation from entering into their inheritance.

12 They had an awesome prophetic word but they had a low sense of identity and value.

13 It takes a huge leap of faith for a grasshopper to conqueror a giant.
A son of the King knows that His Father will back Him up with all of the armies of Heaven.

14 They lost their inheritance because they lacked their identity.

15 Knowing our identity enables us to walk in the fullness of our inheritance.

16 Knowing our identity makes faith easy.
Of course God provides for His kids.

17 identity creates access.
president – has access to air force one. ambassador… access spiritual things, material things to release even what money can’t buy.

18 You are sending your one and only son to accomplish the most important and difficult task of all time.   What do you say?

19 Don’t mess up!

20 You can do this!

21 What did the Father say?

22 Matthew 3:16 And after being baptized, Jesus went up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming upon Him,

23 “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.”
Matthew 3:17 and behold, a voice out of the heavens, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.”

24 You are my beloved son

25 with whom I am well pleased.

26 You are my beloved son! You have full relational access to all that I am.   You have access to all my inheritance.

27 my son with whom I am pleased.
I’m really pleased with you just because you are my son.

28 The greatest thing that you are going to need to fulfill this journey is:
intimacy with ME and you have it because you are my son.

29 What you need to fulfill your calling is wrapped up in knowing the fullness of your identity.

30 “This is my son that I tolerate.”
level of intimacy = difficult level of revelation = difficult capacity to fulfill destiny = push hard to make things happen.

31 “This is my beloved son, with whom I am well pleased”
level of intimacy = high level of revelation = high capacity to fulfill destiny = high able to access all that the Father has.

32 3 verses later

33 Matthew 3:17 and behold, a voice out of the heavens said,
“ This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well- pleased.”

34 Matthew 4:3 And the tempter came and said to Him,
“If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

35 The devil’s primary assault was against Jesus’ identity.

36 When we listen to the “if you are…”
“if you really are spiritual you will…”

37 I don’t do spiritual things to BE spiritual
I don’t do spiritual things to BE spiritual. I do spiritual things because I AM spiritual.

38 I don’t do things to try to please God
I don’t do things to try to please God. I do things because God is pleased with me.

39 What if you already are, the man you always wanted to be.
birthday - revelation What if you already are, the man you always wanted to be.

40 Knowing your identity gives you access to what you need to fulfill your destiny.

41 Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

42 low level You are God’s “ok” creation, you will do a few good things, hopefully you won’t miss it.

43 high level You are God’s amazing creation.
You are going to do great things. God’s prepared it, He won’t let you miss it.

44 O.K. works flow out of O.K. identity.
Great works flow out of a great identity.

45 Your identity awareness determines what you can access.

46 frustrated, stuck, can’t see forward
try harder try to have more faith What you need is not at this level of identity.

47 Maybe you have gone as far as you can go without an identity upgrade.

48 grasshopper = can’t take land of inheritance

49 little light = little shine

50 What happens when we know our identity?

51 John 13:3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come forth from God and was going back to God,

52 John 13:4 got up from supper, and laid aside His garments; and taking a towel, He girded Himself.

53 inheritance Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come forth from God and was going back to God,

54 identity Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come forth from God and was going back to God,

55 destiny Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come forth from God and was going back to God,

56 John 13:4 got up from supper, and *laid aside His garments; and taking a towel, He girded Himself.

57 When you really know who you are it frees to you to radically give and serve.

58

59 Who does your heavenly Father say that you are?

60 Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

61 eph 2:10 - you are a masterpiece - Go and do beautiful, good things..
You are beautiful… go do beautiful works… It’s who you are … it’s not just something that you DO
