2 Directions Organize students into pairs.
Each group of partners will receive cards(page 3 & 5). Have students cut out the cards from page 3 and 5. The will place the 3 blue cards down in a row on their desk. Students will then classify the situation cards(page 5) by placing the card under ONE of the 3 categories (one step, two step, multi step) in a column. Remember each card can only be classified into one category. Once all cards are classified into the 3 categories, students will complete their recording sheet. Each student will get a recording sheet. Students will record what category and what operations they will use for each situation to solve the problem. Sample recording sheet is available.
