Honest—Speak your mind and uphold the truth. Address issues with respect, integrity and in a timely manner. In Spanish class: Express yourself in a respectful manner. Treat others the way you would like to be treated and communicate with the teacher with concerns/questions about attendance, grade, homework, exams, etc. Accountable—Be the best you can be in and out of school. Be present and be prepared. In Spanish class: Be willing to make mistakes and learn from those mistakes. Show up to appointments made with the teacher. Turn in work on time and have the necessary material to learn. Welcoming—Create a positive learning environment in which all school community members can think, learn and feel that they matter. Are we going to speak more than write? What am I going to learn? Is there English? If we could have a refresher from the last two years of Spanish, that would be helpful? Will we speak a lot of Spanish? Will we do a lot of writing tests? Will we do projects? Do we have to only speak Spanish? Are you the type of teacher that cares for their students?
