Father did not want to teach mathematics, but did buy a book which would help Pascal learn Geometry.

He would host meetings to review the research of scientist and mathematicians.
Blaise attended these meetings with his father

7. 1639 Marin Mersenne His father was appointed tax collector

This calculator was used only for 3 years and finished use in 1645.

Visited Pascal to hear about his Vacuum theory
Descartes believed Pascal was wrong and they argued for some time about it.
