Treaty of 1818
United States border would be at the 49th parallel all the way westward towards the Rocky Mountains.  
For 10 years the USA and United Kingdom would jointly occupy the Pacific Northwest territories.  This was known as the Oregon Territory.

1810: American settlers declared independence from Spain
1818: General Andrew Jackson
seized the Spanish forts in a raid against Seminoles and escaped slaves
executed two British citizens on charges of inciting the Indians and runaways.
Monroe’s government seriously considered denouncing Jackson’s actions, but Adams defended the Jackson citing the necessity to restrain the Indians and escaped slaves since the Spanish failed to do so. Adams also sensed that Jackson’s Seminole campaign was popular with Americans and it strengthened his diplomatic hand with Spain.

6. James Monroe: Adams-Onis Treaty, 1819
Secretary of State Adams to Spain: either control inhabitants of East Florida or cede it to the United States.
1819: Treaty: Spain ceded East Florida and renounced all claim to West Florida.
