360° Assessment + Personal Learning Which way do you like? - Survey the group

4 Here’s how it works. Through a unique 4 step process, administrators build a PLP based on feedback from their staff and supervisors. Has anyone here ever been through a 360 degree assessment? Did the results go back to central office or were they confidential? Our 360 results are completely confidential and only accessed by the principal. It starts with a self assessment. Principals will consider the 47 key leadership competencies.

5 Here’s what the self assessment survey looks like
Here’s what the self assessment survey looks like. This is a question about mentoring. There are two parts to every question…how good are you at this competency? How important is it? The self assessment takes about 20 minutes to complete. Then you it to your supervisor and up to 10 staff members. They fill it in anonymously and submit it back to our system…not to central office. Your self assessment is saved and we will then add data from your staff and supervisor. You will send this very same survey via invitations.

6 Each administrator decides whose feedback they value and are familiar with their body of work. They fill in teachers’ names and addresses and the survey will arrive in their inbox. You also get a separate one for your supervisor.

7 After all the surveys are complete, we aggregate the data and create reports showing strengths, weaknesses, blind spots and hidden strengths. The results are CONFIDENTIAL and are for your personal learning only. The first report shows a ranking of the competencies based on the feedback from staff and supervisors.

8 Strengths are listed first
Strengths are listed first. Click on any of the competencies and a bar graph populates to show any discrepancy between each groups’ perceptions. Interesting!! Are you good at the things everyone thinks is most important?.

9 We have other reports to show you your blind spots and hidden strengths. This report shows your blind spots – find out in which competencies you rated yourself higher than everyone else. Time for a reality check! It’s always interesting to compare between all 3 groups of raters. When is there agreement on your strengths and challenges? What do you need to work on? What are your strengths according to your staff and supervisor? Find out with the 360 degree assessment. Then take it to the next step and do something about the areas in which you need work. Start building your professional growth plan by adding competencies to your PLP (Personal Learning Plan)

10 Similar to the PLP for teachers in the STEP Directory, this tool allows administrators to look at leadership competencies and choose video segments that are a laser hit with those skill areas. Aligned to the ISLLC standards
