2 Sustainable development
United Nations define sustainable development as development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. For sustainable development to be achieved, it is crucial to harmonize three core elements: economic growth, social inclusion and environmental protection.

5 Small cities in Ukraine
In terms of population small cities are divided, as follows: 15 of 5,000 people 66 of 5,000 to 10,000 people 160 of 10,000 to 20,000 people 109 of 20,000 to 50,000 people There are 460 cities in Ukraine. Nearly ¾ of them are small cities with 50,000 inhabitants, 20% of which is urban population. There are 885 urban- type settlements (SMT) in Ukraine ( )

13 CONCLUSION The development of cultural, gastronomic and festival tourism is important factor in the sustainable development of small towns in Ukraine Close public–private partnership is of great importance Interactions beyond tourism itself to other governmental departments, regional and local administrations, demanding smart strategy formulation at city or even regional levels are required Small towns in Ukraine have great historical and cultural potential and consequently may become tourist centers, receive more tourists and attract assets to local budgets
