Interest groups help society by providing lawmakers with valuable information on laws that should be passed. Since lawmakers have to worry about many different issues, interest groups give them the details they need to know to vote the best way.
I may know about helping Baltimore, but I don’t know as much about the impact of drilling for oil in Alaska. So, I’ll call my mans at the Sierra Club to fill me in.
