1 Caldecote Primary School Eco-Team
What we do We (all of you) are the Eco team and we look after the school’s environment. We want all of you to take responsibility for our school environment. It usually takes about 15 minutes to do, or if you prefer you can spend longer litter picking.

2 Litter is bad for animals and the environment.
Rubbish/litter It is everybody's job to keep the school grounds tidy with no rubbish around. Please use the bins in the playground for your litter. The Eco Team help to keep the school clean and tidy by collecting litter. Litter is bad for animals and the environment.

3 Energy saving, water and recycling
Energy is important to save because it is expensive and pollutes the environment. Do you remember to run the lights off when you leave a room? Making sure we don’t waste water is an important part of looking after our world. Do you remember to turn off the taps fully? How to recycle in school; Don’t throw things away try using them again. This is an important part of taking care of the environment.

4 Recycling All classrooms have paper trays please make sure if you can’t reuse the paper, put it in the tray for recycling. Eco-Team will empty these daily. The paper is collected by South Cambridgeshire District Council for recycling

5 Animals and plants Our school grounds are home to many plants and animals. We should care for the plants and encourage more wildlife into our school environment. The Eco-Team help by watering all our plants when the weather is warmer.

6 Grounds Looking after the school grounds is very important. We have wonderful grounds and we need to look after them. We also have a great nature area and we should encourage more wild life to use it.

7 Eco-Team Daily check-list to see;
Are the lights, computers and smartboards off in all classrooms? Are the paper bins being used? If so empty them. Have taps been turned off? Are the fruit waste bins being used?

8 Any questions? Please ask a member of the Eco-Committee
