Introduction… Determination of the Springs and wells catchment area is the basis for water balance calculations. It allows the approximation of groundwater and surface water amounts, as the identification of potential sources, the flow direction of groundwater, etc.

Introduction… The Ras Al ein Spring, flowing through the middle part of the Amman city, is consumed completely by drinking purposes and is a most Vulnerable Spring in Jordan , There are different levels of national and international study on surface and ground water, its vulnerable to pollution, quality, consumption, resource,

The idea…. The idea of this research is to state basic parameters of Ras Al ein Spring and its catchment area using Raster maps. The study done by using :- 1) Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) with a horizontal spatial resolution of 90 m. 2 ) Using the model of Watershed delineation in ArcMap software 10. 1

Main methods… Main methods of models, that was used in this research are: the Determine slope, fill, flow direction, flow accumulation, and the derive the boundary of Watershed. Additionally, input data of the applying the model are digital elevation model (DEM) and outlet or Exit location of the main spring.

The results… The results may be applied in:
- Baseline and advanced research on the catchment area. - Also, the results could define a spatial boundary of study on Ras Al ein Spring and its catchment area. -Moreover, it could have technically support for decision-making in Jordan on hydrogeological and hydrological issues, Drinking Water distribution and management.

Study Area This study covers Wadi Abdoun sub- Catchment which is located in the central and western part of whole catchment and includes of wadi saqra as well as abdali area . covers km2 wadi abdoun and wadi saqra runs from the west of Amman at 950 m above the sea level to Ras al ein at about 750 m above sea level. The average annual rainfall depth in the central and northern parts of the study area is mm and the average annual evaporation rate is 1900 mm.

The catchment of Ras Al-ein was drawn using Watershed delineation; its area is 42.79Km2 .

Catchment area… Catchment area of Ras Al ein is located in the center of Amman City has been designated as a study Area for this research. As the capital of Jordan is located in this catchment area and almost a 30% of population is lived in it. Therefore, this catchment area is very significant economically, environmentally, and socially for Jordan.

Ras Al ein and its catchment area that was defined by the Spatial analyst tools method, projected on Google Earth.

Geological Data and Hydrogeological Outcrops
The Amman –Wadi Sir B2/A7 limestone aquifer The degree of cracking and porosity controls the yield and availability of water. this is the most important aquifer in the Ras Al ein spring . It has a big and continuous extent, and a relatively high permeability. It collects the highest amount of modern recharge and is measured to be the major source of fresh water for Ras Al ein spring.

Methods According to 1: scaled topographic map of Jordan, total length of the main upstream Starting from Marj Al-hamam area is approximately 9 km , and the Stream slope is 16 Degree.

Methods… The Ras Al ein longest stream Start from the southwest to northeast and meanders to the South

Methods… The catchment area is located in The W. Zarqa Upstream Ain Ghazal (AL0062) Subbasin and covers approximately 42.7Km2 as mentioned Previously, which is equal to % of total Jordan area.
