You are most likely to thrive in a career that matches your interests, aptitudes, and abilities. When choosing a career, you should consider factors such as work environment and the required education.

4 Career Options Choosing a career path may be difficult.
People interested in working with children often choose careers directly related to child development or child care. career path All of the career moves and job experience that a person gains as he or she works toward a career goal.

5 Career Options One’s interests, aptitudes, and abilities must be considered when choosing a career. Learning about a career and gaining job experience can be done in a number of ways. aptitude A natural talent or potential for learning a skill.

6 Evaluate Careers There are many factors that must be considered when choosing a career: What does a worker in this career do? Do I want to work with people, information, or technology? How well does my aptitude match the aptitude needed for this career? List some of your own aptitudes. What careers might make use of these?

Establishing career goals can help you achieve a career that is satisfying, challenging, and worthwhile. Many short-term goals will likely need to be met before you can achieve your career goal.
