1 The Academy of Master Clinicians Inaugural Guest Lectureship
and Induction Ceremony/Reception The Academy of Master Clinicians is hosting its 1st Inaugural Speaker, Dr. Catherine C. DeAngelis, on April 18, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Levin Hall South Auditorium. The Induction of the 2016 Class of Master Clinicians will follow at 5 p.m. There will be a reception immediately follow the Induction Ceremony. Dr. DeAngelis is University Distinguished Service Professor Emerita in recognition for her outstanding service to Johns Hopkins, Professor of Pediatrics Emerita at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Professor of Health Policy and Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is the Editor in Chief Emerita of JAMA, having served as the first woman in that position. Dr. DeAngelis will give her lecture on “Patient Care and Professionalism”, highlighting the basic tenets of clinical mastery. CNE/CME/CEU credit will be given to faculty who attend the lecture. CME Certification The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston designates this activity for 1 hour of credit in medical ethics/professional responsibility, as required for physicians by the Texas Medical Board. CNE Certification University of Texas Medical Branch Continuing Nursing Education is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
