17 What Islam teaches me? We are one body, responding and completing each other We are equal Intention is fundamental for any work Read, understand and follow prophet commandments (e.g/ don’t become angry) I have responsibility toward Islam ( teach, invite, defend,practice)

18 What Islam teaches me? Altruism or selflessness is the principle or practice of concern for the welfare of others. For example : -Offers to help team members who are busy. Don’t use altruism as an excuse to rationalize certain behaviors ("I can't be with my family because my patients need me.")

19 What Islam teaches me? Respects people : Respects staff, patient (rights, dignity, privacy, confidentiality). Elderly, child, male, female

20 What Islam teaches me? Responsibility and Accountability by : -Demonstrates awareness of own limitations, and identifies developmental needs and approaches for improvements. - Cares for self appropriately and presents self in a professional manner (i.e,, dress, hygiene…). Remember :beauty -Informs others when not available to fulfill responsibilities and secures replacement.

21 What Islam teaches me? Responsibility and Accountability by : -Arrives on time. -Completes assignments and responsibilities on time. - Answers letters, pages, e-mail, and phone calls in a timely manner

22 How to be close to Allah ? Why?

23 Dua’a (Supplication) We need to ask Allah to help us and guide us to the Straight Path. Allah says in the Qur’an: ”And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me – indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided”(2:186).2:186

24 Staying away from anything that Allah doesn’t love The Prophet Muhammad said: “A good friend and a bad friend are like a perfume-seller and a blacksmith: The perfume-seller might give you some perfume as a gift, or you might buy some from him, or at least you might smell its fragrance. As for the blacksmith, he might singe your clothes, and at the very least you will breathe in the fumes of the furnace.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

25 Get to Know Allah Through His 99 Beautiful Names How can you love Allah and want to get closer to him if you don’t know him Ask Allah with His 99 Names

26 Dhikr (Remembrance of Allah ) Remembering Allah is essential in achieving closeness to Him. You can remember him by engaging in dhikr (remembrance) and tasbeeh (praise). Say Astaghfirullah a lot to erase your sins. Say Alhamdulillah so Allah will give you more. Look outside your window and say Subhan-Allah about his beautiful creations

27 Follow the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad By following the Sunnah of our prophet we will gain the love of Allah When you gain the love of Allah, you will get closer to him Following the sunnah of the Prophet makes you a better person You will have better manners and ethics.

28 Stay Connected to the Qur’an Reading or memorizing the Qur’an alone is not enough Understand it and act upon it Reflect on its meanings; it will give you answers to your daily life’s complications.

29 The more you love Allah, the more you will do to get closer to Him The more you get closer to Him, the more He will get closer to you When you reach that level you will be satisfied with everything he gives you You will be productive because you don’t want to waste time without pleasing Allah You will be confident in anything that you do in your life, because you will have full trust in Allah

30 Take home message Our life is dark, purposeless without Islam Remember : Islam is a grace Enjoy your life within the freedom giving by Islam If you want to be a good leader, teacher, father, husband, friend …… Prophet is your role model
