3 SOFTBALL UNIFORMS UNIFORM COLOR 1.3-2-1 Uniforms of all team members shall be of the same color and style. 2.3-2-8 State associations may, on an individual basis, permit a player to participate while wearing a different style uniform for religious reasons, inclement weather, etc..A uniform shall not have any dangerous or reflective buttons or ornaments.

4 3-2-2 SOFTBALL UNIFORMS 1.A number on the back of each player's jersey is required and shall be at least 6 inches high. 2.The number must be of solid color contrasting with the color of shirt. 3.The numbers may have a contrasting color border, which shall not exceed ¼ inch. No players on the same team shall wear identical numbers (0 and 00 are considered the same number).

5 3-2-3 SOFTBALL UNIFORMS The school's official uniform (including uniform jersey, and/or pants/shorts/skirts, etc., visible undergarments, socks, stockings, caps and headwear) may bear only a single manufacturer's logo/trademark/reference (partial or whole) that does not exceed 2¼ square inches with no dimension exceeding 2¼ inches on each item.

6 3-2-4 SOFTBALL UNIFORMS One American flag (2 inch x 3 inch maximum) may be worn on each item of uniform apparel, and either a commemorative or memorial patch, not to exceed 4 square inches and with written state association approval, may be worn on the jersey, provided neither the flag nor the patch interferes with the visibility of the number.

7 3-2-5 SOFTBALL UNIFORMS www.nfhs.org Headwear (caps, visors, headbands, ribbons, etc.) may be mixed. If worn, they must be white, black, beige or school colors (the colors are not required to be the same for team members). The logo may be any color. Flat items, no longer than 2 inches, used to control the hair, such as bobby pins, barrettes and hair clips, are permitted. Plastic visors, bandannas and hair-beads are prohibited.

8 3-2-6 SOFTBALL UNIFORMS For individual players, uniform sleeve lengths may vary. However, sleeves of each individual player shall be approximately the same length and shall not be ragged, frayed or slit.

9 3-2-7 NEW SOFTBALL UNIFORMS www.nfhs.org Exposed undergarments, if worn, are considered part of the official uniform. All exposed undergarments shall be a solid single color: black, white, gray or a school color. a. For individual players, exposed upper-body undergarments do not have to be the same color as exposed lower-body undergarments.

For all team members, exposed upper-body undergarments shall be the same solid single color, and all exposed lower-body undergarments shall be the same solid single color.  c. Garments other than team uniforms such as arm sleeves, leg sleeves, and tights are permissible. Anything worn on the arm or leg is a sleeve, except a brace, and shall meet the color restrictions. www.nfhs.org

11 3-2-9 SOFTBALL UNIFORMS www.nfhs.org A pitcher shall not wear any item on the pitching hand, wrist, arm or thighs which may, in the umpire's judgment, be distracting to the batter.
