1 Lincoln ES will allow students in the pilot classroom to bring privately owned devices for teacher-directed instructional use. This program is optional, and supplemental to already existing school technology. BYOT at Lincoln Elementary School

3  What You Should Know Devices used exclusively for instructional purposes Internet use will be supervised Cellular data use is not allowed LCPS wireless only (No 3G/4G) No texting or messaging LCPS/Lincoln is not responsible for data charges Device Information Students are responsible for their own device. Students must follow LCPS Acceptable Use Policy guidelines. Students can only access the internet through the school Wi-Fi network. LCPS-OPEN network will be used and all LCPS filtering monitors will be used.

4  Acceptable Devices Laptops Notebooks Tablets or iPads w/attachable keyboard  Device Requirements Portable Attachable keyboard* Device must be fully charged Internet ready with wireless Identification sticker on every item Also recommended: − Antivirus software − Headphones

5  Unacceptable Devices Cell Phones Flip Phones Phones Devices CANNOT have outside access to text or voice services!

6  Safety and Security All devices will be subject to Internet filtering Students assume total responsibility for their devices No portable device should ever be left unattended When not in use, the device should be with the student or in a secured location Unattended devices will be turned in to school administration LCPS/Lincoln are not responsible for: Loss Damage Theft Failure or inoperability Troubleshooting

8 Microsoft Office is available to every student free of charge! With Office 365, your child will now have access to The latest version of Word, for writing; Excel, for spreadsheets; PowerPoint for presentations; OneNote, for organization and note taking; and much more.
