2 Today we learn and practice sentence parts.

3 Sentence Parts (Subject, verb & object): Subject (Sb.): is somebody or something He, she, it, you, I, chair, tiger… Verb (v.): is activity or action Cook, went, going, has, is, gone … Object (Ob.): is somebody or something Alice, book, me, her, us, school …

4 Simple Sentence Sb. or Sth. + v. + Sb. or Sth. Alice + went + home. Jim + has + a car. The chair + is + comfortable.

5 Examples: Yesterday, Jimmy went to school. Last week, Marry bought a jacket. Tomorrow, I will travel to France. This desk belongs to Harry. Are you going to the movies? My dog can play basketball. Mr. Jackson doesn’t like pizza.

6 Don’t always use I when you make a sentence, use He, She, They, We, You, It Name, Mr.+ name, Ms. + name and more. OK?

7 It is very good for you to make sentences using words from your lesson. Henry is a volunteer; he helps disabled and deaf people.

8 How to make a sentence with: Care for = Look after She cares for/looks after her disabled grandmother. You try!

9 How to make a sentence with: Put off He put off cleaning the city park For later. Give up X Don’t give up helping the homeless people. Come up with & think Take after & similar to Set up & prepare You try!

10 How to make a sentence with: Come up with = think of You should come up with/think of a good idea or a good plan. You try!

11 How to make a sentence with: Take after = similar to = same as Tom (takes after/is similar to/is the same as) his father because he’s also a volunteer. You try!

12 How to make a sentence with: Set up = prepare Let’s set up a fruit table for teachers. X Try to set up a shop to sell books. You try!
