1. Food and Nutrition Road Show- Newsletter/ website insert Mellors catering services would like to thank the students of Fulwood Academy for there participation in the Mellors ‘ Spring into Summer- Food and Nutrition roadshow. Company nutritionist Danielle Bretherton started the day delivering a healthy lifestyles presentation to students, discussing the importance of good health whilst studying at school and healthy summer snacking in the holidays. All students from the academy were then able to try healthy food samples including fruit smoothies and Chinese vegetable stir fry. The days formed part of Mellors commitment to the health and wellbeing of there customers and contributed to a 160 day food and nutrition tour across all of there sites. Alex in Y8 said the day was a great success and her and her friends went back for second helpings of the stir fry!! Danielle and her team will be back in school in September, delivering healthy eating assemblies to the new Year 7 students. Danielle said ‘good nutrition aids children's learning and it is vital that if they want to do well at school they fuel there day with healthy and nutritious food. Mellors are committed to ensuring our menus are nutritionally balanced and that our food is fresh and made daily on site’.
