CARE – Digital preservation project Objectives Initial project will include only new materials from a limited number of publisher Gradually expanded to most major publishers Include old materials when possible Allow an alternative access to the users in order to increse the bargaining power with publisher. Allow long term preservation of scientific material published by the universities

CARE – Digital preservation project Local loading and post cancellation In early 2000 first attempts by two consortia supplying electronic resurces to the universities (CILEA and CASPUR) Only new acquisitions on a limited number of contracts (Elsevier Wiley, Springer) For few years (up to 2012) there has been an attempt to unify the two projects. They have been placed on indefinite hold in 2014.
