Compustat Database – For Faculty Research Needs One of the widely used research databases along with CRSP, from the University of Chicago Compustat has the longest time series of STANDARDIZED Fundamental Financial Data History for both Current & Historical firms. Including Historical firms that have come and gone is crucial for peer-reviewed academic research, to avoid survivorship bias 7

Google Scholar/SSRN A search for Compustat on Google Scholar shows over 41,000 results, with similar results on SSRN.
