Some of the world’s brightest minds were in Waterloo for the Equinox Summit, put on by the Waterloo Global Science Initiative, a partnership between UW and the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. This conference featured an opening address by His Excellency David Johnston, and deals with future energy issues surrounding the generation of electricity. Protocol dictated that I had to officially greet the Governor General at the Tech Park Renaming event, then get in my car and drive ahead of him to the Perimeter Institute so I could formally greet him once again.
