There are main and minor characters. Main characters are the most important characters. Minor characters are the characters that are not as important in the story.

There are four methods of characterization (the way in which a narrator brings a character to life). 1.Physical Appearance 2.Thoughts, Speech, and Actions 3.Other Characters 4.Narrator’s Comments

What does the character look like? What are his/her expressions, gestures, or body language?

What does the character think, say, or do? How does the character treat others? What is important to the character?

How do other characters react to the character? What do people think or say about the character?

What does the narrator say about the character? Does the narrator like or dislike the character?
