Stock market prices dropped in New York Exchange In 1932- stock market prices dropped over 20% of value since 1929 By 1933- 11,000 of 25,000 US Banks failed Failed banks + loss of confidence in US economy = less spending, demand, production

Between 12-15% in the beginning By 1933 it was 25% 37% of all nonfarm workers People did anything to earn money for their families

Elected in 1932 as US President Promised a “New Deal” to reduce unemployment Kept US economy from totally crashing

A family during the Great Depression The Great Depression began around 1929 1932-1934 were the worst economic years It finally “ended” around 1939
