MARRIAGE Tonight I want us to use scriptures from the “Sermon on the Mount” and apply them to marriage. I think going through these will be a good way to summarize this week’s teaching on marriage; for those of us who are married and for those of us who may get married.

Basics that can help a marriage (Matthew 5:3-12) Hindrances to spouses (Matthew 5:22-24) Not lusting for others (Matthew 5:27-32) Honesty in marriage (Matthew 5:33-37) Unconditional Love (Matthew 5:38-6:4, 7:12) Humble prayer in marriage (Matthew 6:6, 7:7-11) Forgiving our spouses (Matthew 6:12-15) God is to be #1 (Matthew 6:19-21, 24, 33-34) Hearing and Doing what Jesus says (Matthew 7:21-24) Sermon on the Mount applied to Marriage

WIFE GOD HUSBAND Christian Marriage God intends spouses to grow toward Him, as they grow closer to one another. Marriage is a wonderful institution, created by God for man!
4
What does one do if they are in a marriage to a non-believer? Three thoughts of encouragement : Matthew 6:24, 33, 10:37-38 Romans 12:17-21, 1 Peter 3:1-2 1 Corinthians 7:10-14

A good question for us all to ask ourselves is: AM I HELPING MY SPOUSE GET TO HEAVEN, OR AM I A HINDRANCE?

All are not commanded to get married. Many single Christians dedicate their lives to the Lord and these should be appreciated! All must be spiritually married to Jesus to have their sins washed away (Ephesians 5:30-32). To become married to Christ you must keep His commandments (John 14:15). Believe Him, Confess that He is the Son of God, Repent of your sins, be Baptized in water to wash away your sins, and Live your life for Him. Marriage

How about you? The Spirit and the bride say come! (Revelation 22:17)
