4.  Sept 1939- Hitler Occupies Poland  April/May 1940- Denmark and Norway fall  10 th of May 1940- Holland and Belgium fall  June 22 nd 1940- FRANCE falls

5.  Early 1941- Germany takes part of N. Africa, Greece, Yugoslavia  Germany attacks Russia, pushes Russia inward.

7.  Nightly raids by the Germans  Continuous bombings on London  The British Royal Air Force was able to hold off, considered a miracle.  Hitler was forced to postpone his all out invasion into Great Britain

8.  Dec 7, 1941- Japan attacks the United States naval base Pearl Harbor.  Feb 1942- Japan takes Singapore from the British.

9.  However, Japan knew they had “messed up”, as the prime minister was quoted as saying, “I am afraid we have woken a sleeping giant”.  Video
