4 1914 and 1915 1914 The war on the eastern front started on the 17th of August 1914 when Russians invaded East Prussia. Germany immediately launched a counter-attack 1915 By May of 1915, the Germans took over command of the Eastern Front Russian 8-inch guns advancing to positions.

5 1916 and 1917 1917 By the 1917 the Russian people were frustrated for the large numbers of casualties, which for many reasons, such as general strike, inflation and frustration, led to the Russian revolution. 1916 By June 1916 there were 140 Russian infantry divisions against 105 Austro- German infantry divisions and 40 Russian cavalry divisions against 22 Austro-German. The Brusilov offensive of 1916 was a somewhat succesfull attempt by the Russians at attacking Austria-Hungary. Area Russia lost when the Brest-Litovskin was signed
