4 2017-18 Funding State Entitlement Funds Title I, Part A –SIG 1003(g) no longer funded; new 7% reservation of state Title I funds for schools in need of support and improvement Title II, Part A –No immediate changes; funding formula to states changes over 4 years Title IV, Part A –New appropriation touted as a “block grant” State Discretionary Funds Direct Student Services –States may reserve up to 3% of Title I funds for Direct Student Services grants to local education agencies (LEAs) Assessment System Audits –States may seek additional funds to conduct an audit of assessment systems; not less than 20% may be used for LEA grants 4
