2. Why are cars bad?  They release out the gas ‘Carbon Monoxide’. Carbon Monoxide interferes with the inhalation of Oxygen, which is ultimately bad for us.bad for us  Carbon Dioxide is also released: it traps heat in the atmosphere, which warms the Earth – Global Warming. It also increases cancer rates – eek!  The car engines also release pollutants that are also harmful to the environment and can be deposited on the soil and enter the food chain.  Noise! Traffic Jams! Stress! Road rage! Parking everywhere!  Petrol is expensive and oil is running out – make the switch to alternative transport, save money and get healthier!

Our Idea – Celebrate World Car Free Day Events:  MENTOR: quiz & anti-car graphic competitions  BREAKS: Wheels (skateboards, bikes, rollerblades etc.) and quick feet (3-legged, backwards walking, hopping, wheelbarrows etc.) team relay races  BREAKS: Human pedal-powered blended smoothies for sale  Teacher who travels the furthest on alternative transport prize! On the 20th of September we want staff and students alike to change their transport habits for one day, to help raise awareness of the environment. BIKE, WALK, RUN, BUS, TRAIN, SKATE/BLADE, SKATEBOARD, CAR-POOL, HORSE-RIDE, STILTS, UNI-CYCLE, GO-KART, WIND-SURF, KTE-SURF!?
