2. The Purpose and What We Learned Project: We had to go online onto given sites and find 2 cars per person. W got to pick them, but we had to be able to pick one’s that cost under $350 per month, and we had 60 months at most to pay for them, with down payment and taxes. Purpose: I think that the purpose of this project was to show us sort of what it’s like to choose something to buy with a given amount of money you can use; A.K.A. handling a budget without actually using real money. It was probably also meant to show us how taxes and down payment affects the price of things that you buy. What We Learned: -The difference between a model and a make. A make is the business name, a model is the type of car. -More about handling a budget and not getting everything you want (aww….). -4X4 doesn’t mean 4 times 4, it means that all four wheels on the car are working. -That color isn’t the only thing that goes into buying a car; there’s price and mileage and price and automatic instead of a joy stick). -Blue is a very pretty color for a truck!

3. Kaity’s First Car Why I picked it: Alex liked it. It’s a beetle! It’s got low mileage. It’s fairly new. It’s not THAT expensive and I can pay for it. I like the style It’s got Automatic, not a shift stick It’s YELLOW!!!!!!

4. Alex’ First Car Why She Picked It: Kaity liked it! It was a convertible. Liked the style (both of us got good taste ). It was cheap It blue!

5. Kaity’s 2 nd Car (not as good as the first one but still awesome!) Why I picked it: -Alex liked it -It could fit a lot in the back (for trips and moving or whatever) -It looked really cool! -It had good mileage. -It wasn’t to very expensive (for a truck) -It was cheap!

8. The Car We Finally Picked (Sorry Other Cars  ) We finally decided to pick Alex’s 2nd Car Choice because there’s more room for our friends (and luggage) if we all want to go somewhere. Plus, it was our cheapest car, and it has 4x4 (4 wheel drive). And we can do tailgate rides!

10. About This Project I think this project helps us to understand how it is in real life to bye a car, and that it isn’t all easy. We learned about what different loans there are and how to figure out your monthly payments depending on how much your down payment is.

11. My First Car My first car is a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse SPYDER GT convertible (power). It is used and its miles are 32,666. It has a 2 wheel drive an am/fm CD player, air conditioning, power mirrors, and cruise control.

12. My second Car My second car is a 2004 Ford Mustang convertible (power) It is used and its miles are 37,975. It has power mirrors, cruise control, interior color is tan and leather seats, AM/FM stereo, and CD player.

14. The Car I Chose In the end I chose the Ford Mustang because it was overall cheaper but they were both equal in quality so I chose it because it was cheaper. I also chose the 5 years at 9% loan because it was cheaper per month and I would be saving a total of $1,380.

16. The purpose, and what I learned. This project was about buying a car at a reasonable price and have to pay for it every month. I learned that buying a car is fun but you also have to pay money for it and you cant just buy any car you have to actually look at the price and the qualities of the car, so you know what you’re paying for is going to last you. I also learned that the more new models are more expensive, and the more old models are less expensive.

17. Why I picked the cars I picked. I picked the two cars Mitsubishi and Porsche because I liked the way they looked and the prices were pretty good. The mileage on the two cars isn’t very good though. The Porsche was 121,000 on mileage, and the Mitsubishi was 125,000 on mileage.

19. About the Project The purpose of this project was to learn how to use your money wisely. It also was about knowing that you don’t need a brand new car. Even thought the new cars are cool you can still get the same car for used with a lower price.

33. The Reason of Car Quest. II though the reason of Car Quest was to help us with choosing a car. IIn car quest we also learned how to find out the mouthy payments for a 3, 4, 5 year loan.

34. The First Choice  My first choice for a car was a Ford Thunderbird.  I chose the car because it had a 8 cylinder engine, automatic transmission, it is a 2 wheel drive, it a Turbo Coupe, and it only 1,400 for the car.  Total miles on the car 175,000.

35. The Second Choice  My second choice for a car was a Pontiac Firebird TRANS AM.  I chose this car because it also had a 8 cylinder, automatic transmission, it also is a 2 wheel drive, it’s body style is a Hatchback, and it was only 9,999 for the car.  The car only has 72,000 miles on the it.

37. The Final Choice  For my final car I chose the Ford Thunder- bird.  I chose the Thunderbird because it was cheaper than the Firebird and the monthly payment was a lot lower.  But in the end, I don’t really care what car I have. I just care about the cars history report, and the price.

39. Car quest was fun, but why did we do it? What I personally think was the reason for car quest was… 1. To learn how to spend our money wisely and 2. To have fun with money management

40. Car Choice one 2000 Cadillac Escalade AWD I chose the Escalade because I like the style, it is has eight cylinders, it’s automatic, it has AWD, and it was cheep for its quality.

41. Second Car Choice 1997 Porsche Boxster I chose the porsche boxster because it is an eight cylinder, I like the stick shift because of the speed, and it’s a convertible.

43. The end If I had to I would pick the Cadillac Escalade because it is 1,000 dollars less, and it has a lot less miles. Even though it is not fuel efficient the extra 1,000 dollars could be spent on gas.

45. What is Carquest? In this project we had to find a car that we could afford but doesn’t go over a monthly payment of $350.00. I think that this project was to show us the steps of buying a car is not all that easy. I learned that when you buy a car there is a tax rate which could be 5% of your total. Then there is also a down payment tax and that you also have to pay for interest for the monthly payments. The monthly payment totals depends on how long you are paying. If you are paying longer your monthly payment will be lower, but overall you are saving money if you pay for a shorter period of time.

46. Mitsubishi Eclipse GS I chose the Mitsubishi because it was cheap, had a four person capacity (which I need for my friends), it has a sun roof, air conditioning and heat worked, it wasn’t that old, and was not damaged in any ways.

47. Ford Mustang I chose the Ford Mustang because it had low miles on in, it also had a four person capacity, It was still cheap (not as cheap as the Mitsubishi), it had leather seats, and a liked how it looked.

49. Conclusion I chose the Mitsubishi Eclipse GS because it was newer, cheaper, and I liked how it looked better. I chose to go with the three year payment because I could afford it, I would be paying for a less amount of time, and I would be saving $12,432 more then if I would go with the five year payment.

51. The Purpose In this project we had to find two cars that we could afford but the price couldn’t go over $350 per month. There was three different types of loans there was a 3 year loan, 4 year loan, 5 year loan,. The more years you take to pay off the car the higher the interest rate is going to be.

52. The Cadillac I chose a Cadillac because they are my favorite kind of car and it has a lot of passenger room and I like to go on long trips. I also chose this car because the gas mileage is low and since I like to go on trips I want low mileage. Another reason I chose this car is because it has leather interior and I like leather seats.

74. About the Project. This project is meant to teach us about buying our first car. I learned about different loan types,and the interest in for the loans. If you do a loan paid over a longer period of time the interest is greater. Then the total price is more. Also I learned that the price for cars are effected by the mileage.

78. What Car will I pick? A picked the GT2 in the end. I picked it since it was a newer model. I liked it’s cooler to. I think it is just a better car. I decided to do the five year plan. For the simple reason that it is the only way I could afford it. The others where higher then $350. I ended up saving a grand total of $0. Wow that is a big saving!!
