Improving Home/School Communication through “Blogging” Amanda Rogers AETC 2008
2
What is a blog? “Blog” refers to a “weblog,” which is an interactive online journal, in that an individual can post thoughts online and others can post responses.
3
Blogs vs. Websites for Home/School Communication Websites are simply informational, while blogs are interactive and connect both students and parents to daily learning.
4
I chose blogging because…
5
1.I needed to cover technology and content area standards. 2. Parents can help teach their children safe Internet practices.
7
3. Blogging extends daily learning through online activities and by equipping parents with the tools they need to further their children’s education.
9
4. My students need to show off their learning!
12
5. Parents deserve to have a window into the classroom!
