8 Block Periodisation V1V2V3UnloadHiT Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Block periodisation offers a more efficient and effective way of varying intensity and workload cycles throughout the season than traditional methods. Key features include three weeks of volume training called V 1-3 (largely aerobic with 1 or 2 intensive sessions only) followed by a week of unloading, and then a very heavy, intensive week called HiT. An example is shown below. High intensity sessions (sessions including multiple pieces of race pace work) are in yellow.
