2 I’m very glad to share my lesson plan with you. The lesson I’m going to talk about today is from Go For It, Book 7B, Unit 5 Why do you like pandas Period1. I’d like to explain it from these six aspects.

3 Ⅰ、 Analysis of the teaching material a)The teaching material is section A of unit 5 Why do you like pandas? from 1a to 2c b)It is talking about the animals (Why we like or don’t like them and Where are they from)

4 Ⅱ、 the analysis on the learning condition a)previous knowledge of the students: The students have learned some animals and use some simple description words such as interesting, lovely to explain the reason why they like or don’t like them. b)Most of the students are interesed in animals, so they can be active in class,which is helpful in study.

5 Ⅲ、 Analysis of teaching aims and demands a) Knowledge goals 1 、 Vacabulary: panda, zoo, tiger, lion, giraffe, animal, cute, lazy, smart, beautiful, kind, Australia, south, Africa really scary, kind of interesting 2 、 Sentence patterns: Let’s see… Why do you like…? Because they are… Where are they from? They are from…

6 b) Ability goals 1.The Students will know more about animals. 2. Ss can express their feelings towards animals better. c) Moral goals 1. learning more about the animals, students will love them more and make efforts to protect them. 2. Studednts will be proud of the precious animals of our country, such as pandas.

7 Ⅳ、 Analysis of teaching importances and difficulties Importances1.New words(tiger,elephant…) 2.Why …? Because… Difficulties: pronunciation of koala and giraffe. Ⅴ、 Analysis of the teaching method and learning method 1 、 Teaching method: Task-based language teaching, The Communicative Approach, The Situational Approach 2 、 Learning method:Cooperative learning

8 Ⅵ、 Analysis of teaching procedure Step 1 、 Warming up 1)show some pictures of animals which students have learned. 2)Ask and answer (what is your favorite animal and why do you like it? Teach the new word animal) Step 2 、 Lead-in Play a short movie of two pandas ‘’DeDe” and “QingQing” in Deqing and teach Ss the new words zoo and panda.

9 Step 3 、 presentation 1)Showing pictures to teach the new words( tiger,elephant,lion, giraffe, ) 2)Ask Ss :Do you like…?Why? Because…(teach new words cute, lazy, smart, beatiful, scary and kind of) Ss can pronouce these words correctly and know the meaning. Step 4 、 Practice 1)Make a pairwork: What's your favorite animal?...Why... ? Bcause...

10 2)b: Listen and check the animals you hear in 1a. 3)Read the conversation in 1b. 4)Make a new conversation by using these words: cute, interesting, fun, smart, lazy, beautiful to talk about other animals. A: Let’s see… B: Why do you want to see them? A: Because they’re….(Ss will know how to use the new knowledge well in pronuciation and meaning)

Finish 2a: 1.Write down the words of animals(achieve the spelling). 2.Check the answers : ask and answer like this: What animal is really scary?What animal is from China? 3.Complete the conversation and talk about the other two animals in 2a with a partner. (Ss consolidate what they learnt in this period)
