Auszogne These are AUSZOGNE, Bavarian Donuts, being fried as they were for generations in a less than gadget filled German kitchen, at the GLENTLEITEN OPEN AIR MUSEUM in Southern Bavaria. An interactive museum that showcases life from Upper Bavaria's past. A favorite as a dessert or cake in Bavaria, Auszogne are a traditional fried yeast dough pastry found not only in Bayern's Old Bavaria, Franconia and Swabia, but also Thuringia in eastern Germany and Western Austria. One of the names they go by is Kniekuechle, "Knee Cakes", because it is said having mixed the ingredients Franconian cooks used shape them by carefully stretching a ball of the sweetened yeast dough over their knees. Leaving the middle very thin.

Relative Pronouns MasculineFeminineNeuterPlural Nominative wer derdiedasdie Accusative wen, was dendiedasdie Dative wem demderdemdenen Genitive wessen dessenderendessenderen

Relative Pronouns Relative clauses begin with relative pronouns - words that correspond to who, whom, that and which in English. These may be omitted in English, but must be included in German. A comma always precedes the relative pronoun, which is put into the correct gender depending on the noun it refers to, and the correct case depending on its function in the clause. The conjugated verb goes to the end of the sentence as well.

Relative Pronouns Ex. That is the coat that I bought yesterday. Das ist der Mantel, den ich gestern gekauft habe. In the above example, the relative pronoun is in the masculine accusative case because Mantel is masculine, and is a direct object of the verb "to buy", therefore, it is accusative.

Relative Pronouns When a relative pronoun follows a preposition, the preposition determines the case, while the gender and number are determined by the noun. The preposition and pronoun always stay together as one unit as well.

Relative Pronoun Wer war die Frau, mit der ich dich gesehen haben? Who was the woman, with whom I you seen have? Who was the woman (whom) I saw you with?

Mein Vater ist der einzige Mensch, ____ ich nichts davon erzählt habe. My father is the only person, to whom I nothing about it told have.
