3  What is e-Learning? E – not only means electronic but also means efficient, effective, enjoyable Learning – not teaching / student-centred not teacher-centred E-Learning :  involves the use of electronic media to promote various learning and teaching strategies to help students achieve the learning targets  promotes paradigm shift which in-line with the education reforms in recent years Computer- aided Learning Computer- supported Collaborative Learning E-Learning By Wikipedia

4  E-tools e.g. interactive learning platforms, blogs, wiki platform Advantages: enhance communication between students and teachers, students and students, helps students build a learning community  E-learning resources e.g. e-texts, web pages, multimedia software Advantages: Enable teachers to tie different learning strategies and present abstract concepts in a concrete way, students can learn and explore in a flexible way  E-learning programmes e.g. Customized online learning programmes Advantages: students take initiative to use different learning resources and engage themselves in learning without being limited by time and space Working Group Report (p.13-14)

6  From knowledge transmitter to learning facilitator  Choice of resources from text book, and other resources including e-resources  Make use of appropriate IT to learn properly at suitable time, avoid using IT for the sake of using IT  Use different materials to provide the most engaging educational experience for students (e.g. Collaborative learning tasks)  Build a community to facilitate the exchange of views regarding the use of e-resources

10 The school has showed us the use of resources to motivate students, encounter the learner diversity. How can we further enhance the engagement of students in learning? How can we extend their learning outside the classroom? How can we share the e-resources with students so that they are linked by different tasks?
