MY CAREER Social worker A social worker is a professional who, most often, works with people and helps them manage their daily lives, understand and adapt to illness, disability, and death, and obtain social services, such as health care, government assistance, and legal aid. Other social workers work as administrators in social service settings, write grants for nonprofit agencies, advocate for social policy at various levels of government, and conduct research. One needs to earn bachelor's degree, at the minimum, to become a social worker. Although this should usually be in social work (BSW), other majors, such as psychology, sociology, and related areas, may allow one to get an entry level job. An advanced degree, Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) is required for many positions. I want to be a social worker because I have been on the host foster family side and I want to be able to help the babies/children/teenagers more for the inside. I get attached to people quickly and I will be able to still know how they are doing. That is one thing that being on the other side you do not get updates unless the child/teenager contacts you.

CAREER Social worker I plan to work at a Child Protective Services or CPS. The great thing about being a social worker is that you will always have a job. You train in more than one segment of social work. I have a few back-ups to fall upon this would include the following job opportunities: working in hospice, in school counseling, and in many other branches.

TAXES General Federal taxes- A tax levied by the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on the annual earnings of individuals, corporations, trusts and other legal entities. Federal income taxes are applied on all forms of earnings that make up a taxpayer's taxable income, such as employment earnings or capital gains. FICA- A U.S. law requiring a deduction from paychecks and income that goes toward the Social Security program and Medicare. Both employees and employers are responsible for sharing the FICA payments. Medicare- An employee's earnings that are subject to a U.S. payroll tax known as the "Medicare tax." Similar to the other U.S. payroll tax - Social Security - the Medicare tax is used to fund the government's Medicare program, which provides subsidized healthcare and hospital insurance benefits to retirees and the disabled. Medicare is a levied tax on both employees and employers. State taxes- Tax levied on income at the state level. State income taxes have their own set of deductions and credits that may be awarded for certain activities My pay check- I researched the money value that I would gain after taxes. This is the lowest and highest money I could gain. I will have between $23,000- $57,000.

INTERNSHIP While going through my schooling, I will be getting internships to gain experience in the field of social work. I will be testing out all the fields to see which I like the best. This will help me be able to get a job. By showing that I work hard without getting paid, it will show that I am a qualified and hard-working person. This qualification quality will come If I can get references of how good I am and could become. I will get an advantage to start higher on the pay roll.

HOUSING COSTS House Price: $44,900 Loan expected: $44,910 Loan Term: 20 years Expected Annual Interest Rate : 4.75% Expected Annual Property Taxes: $2,009 (given through the century 21 website) This house was foreclosed on. Monthly mortgage payment: $477 I want to get the 15-year Fixed Rate loan of 4.75%. I would have a $250 payment each month. Monthly property tax: $167.42 Property tax: tax assessed on real estate by the local government. The tax is usually based on the value of the property (including the land) you own. Light/Utility bills: $200 My total monthly payment for my home: $894.42
15
LOAN INFORMATION My loan was a 15-year Fixed Rate. This means it is a loan agreement under which the interest rate and the amount of each payment remains constant throughout the life of the loan. The other type of loan is an ARM loan. This means it is a loan agreement that has an adjustable percentage rate of charge. I would only need a $2,000 down payment. This would require the minimum credit score of 650. Three things that I could do right now in order to make my credit score higher: 1. Get a bill in my name to pay. 2. Get a credit card that I use and keep up on the payments. 3. Get a smaller loan to pay off.
16
RETIREMENT I plan to have a Roth IRA retirement fund. I pay taxes before I put the money in to the account and have it saved for me. I would like to be 21 when I start my retirement fund. I would put in a $100 a month and if I should get extra cash for any reason I will add that to the fund and to my back up plan fund. If I should gain a raise, then I would add more money to the fund. I would like never to go under a $100.
17
MONTHLY BUDGET * This includes taxes figured in each individual price. My monthly budget is to where I can live within my means! My monthly salary will be between $23,500 - $30,000. I will be just under the lower side of the average money earned. I will get $1,985.33, but will only use $1,883.96 per month. This is according to the lowest possible paycheck. My yearly salary is $23,500 minimum and I am only spending $22,607.52. The extra will be set aside in the retirement fund or back up fund.
18
BACKUP PLAN!! I have backups in the field that I chose. This field allows you to be diverse. I can work with people of all ages and all situations. This means I can be a CPS worker, a Hospital social worker, a Hospice worker, and many more positions. I have the retirement fund to live on until I can get another job. When I get another job, I will replace the money I held back. I plan to have $100 a month. Extra money gained will be placed here as well as retirement. I will have an extra $1,000 dollars that will be set aside for extra expenses.
