I myself am going"...In those days ten from all languages and nations will take firm hold of one Jew by the edge of his robe and say, "Let us go with you, we have heard that God is with you!"- Zechariah 8:20~23 con·cert (kŏn'sûrt', -s ə rt) n. 15 Prayers for “our church”

16 A Time of Confession Almighty God, we confess how hard it is to be your people. You have called us to be the church, to continue the mission of Jesus Christ as witnesses in our communities and to the ends of the earth. Yet we acknowledge we are more apathetic than active, isolated than involved, callous than compassionate, obstinate than obedient, legalistic than loving. We have been distracted and deterred from your mission. We have been a people divided, rather than united in the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Gracious Lord, have mercy upon us and forgive our sins. Remove the obstacles in our lives & in our churches preventing us from being your representatives to a broken world. Awaken our hearts to the promised gift of your indwelling Spirit. [Silent confession] This we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen. Pray this prayer in Unison.

17 Words of Forgiveness Here are words you may trust, words that merit full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. To all who confess their sins and resolve to lead a new life, he says, “Your sins are forgiven.” He also says, “Follow me.” Receive the forgiveness of Christ & follow in obedience.

18 Pray for the church to experience unity, holiness, humility, vision for mission, and action for God’s purposes. Pray through each prayer point with a prayer partner.
