2 Hypothesis 1.The density of 20 mL of fresh water will be greater/less/the same as the density of 50 mL of fresh water. 2.The density of fresh water will be greater/less than the density of salt water.

3 Fresh Water Data: Mass of Graduate (g) Mass of Graduate + Water (g) Mass of Water (g) Volume of water (ml) Density of water (g/ml) For 20 mL of Fresh Water: (measure exactly 20 mL) For 50 mL of Fresh Water: (measure exactly 50 mL) Mass of Graduate (g) Mass of Graduate + Water (g) Mass of Water (g) Volume of water (ml) Density of water (g/ml) Pg. 15 of IAN

4 Salt Water Procedure 1.Find mass of empty dry beaker. 2.Pour 50 mL of water into the beaker. (use the 50mL from part 1) 3.Mix a spoonful of salt into the 50 mL of water, swirl to dissolve. 4.Find the density of the salt water.

5 Output: Salt Water Data Mass of empty beaker (g) Mass of beaker + 50 mL of salt water (g) Mass of salt water (g) Volume of Salt Water (ml) Density of Salt water (g/ml)

6 Further Output Draw the particles in the salt water versus the fresh water. Use Color!
