Introducción al Diseño Curricular de 6° año Escuela Secundaria – Inglés CIIE Región 10 Capacitador: Oscar Marino Prof. Marisa Rodríguez

What I knowWhat I want to know What I learned -Assessment may be formal or informal. -Assessment is part of the learning and teaching process. -Assessment is present in every single class. - How to improve my way of assessing. -How to assess students under CLIL methodology. - More about portfolios.

Assessment Principles in CLIL

WHY AM I ASSESSING ? WHAT AM I ASSESSING? WHAT ASSESSMENT METHOD SHOULD I USE? HOW CAN I ENSURE QUALITY IN THIS ASSESSMENT FOR LEARNING? HOW CAN I USE THE INFORMATION FROM THIS ASSESSMENT?

Assessment for learning It is designed to give teachers information to modify and differentiate teaching and learning activities. It requires careful design on the part of the teachers so that they use the resulting information to determine not only what students know, but also to gain insights into how, when and whether students apply what they know.

Assessment as learning It is a process of developing and supporting metacognition for students. It requires that teachers help students develop, practise and become comfortable with a critical analysis of their own learning.

Assessment of learning It is summative in nature and is used to confirm what students know and can do.

Mind Map

Washback The extent to which the introduction and use of a test influences language teachers and learners to do things that they would not otherwise do that promote or inhibit language learning.

Portfolios A portfolio is a container of documents that provide evidence of someone´s knowledege, skills and/or dispositions (Barton & Collins, 1993). Portfolios appear to represent a move toward learner-centered, self-directed, peer-to-peer and autonomous learning.

What I learned -Different purposes of assessment -Assessment for learning -Assessment as learning -Assessment of learning -How to organize a mind map taking into account the CLIL principles and the assessment purposes -How e-portolios can be introduced as a successful way of assessing.

PERSONAL REFLECTIONS I feel I could reassure some concepts I had learned about CLIL And I could learn more about assessment and how to improve projects. Preparing a mind-map was really very useful.I managed to prepare one with the contents for the whole year. It was interesting to see how all the contents I had selected at the beginning of the year were bound together and formed a big unit of work.
