1. Pentecost and The Fruit of the Spirit Class Four Thursday 8 th May 2008

2. Think back to Rev’d Burns’ assembly last week… We learnt all about Ascension Day and how the Disciples were left to stand on their own two feet. This all happened six weeks after Jesus rose from the dead on Easter Sunday… Jesus and the disciples were talking on top of a hill. Jesus said to the disciples “I will be going soon, but God will send his Spirit to be with you”.

3. Suddenly a swirling cloud hid Jesus and two men dressed in white said “One day Jesus will return”.

4. The disciples got together and were eating dinner in a house in Jerusalem, when suddenly a great wind swept through the house.

5. Dancing flames came down and touched the disciples on the head, they knew that this was the Holy Spirit.

6. The disciples found that they could speak in every language. They went out into the street and told everyone the good news, dancing as they went. The people asked how they could have the Holy Spirit in their lives. Peter replied “ask God for forgiveness”. So the people were forgiven and God gave them the Holy Spirit and they began a new life.

7. The Fruit of the Spirit

8. The Spirit lives to set us free, walk, walk in the light; He binds us all in unity, walk walk in the light. Walk in the light, walk in the light, walk in the light of the Lord.

9. Jesus promised life to all, walk, walk in the light; the dead were wakened by His call, walk, walk in the light. Walk in the light, walk in the light, walk in the light of the Lord.

10. He died in pain on Calvary, walk, walk in the light; to save the lost like you and me, walk, walk in the light. Walk in the light, walk in the light, walk in the light of the Lord.

11. We know His death was not the end, walk, walk in the light; He gave His Spirit to be our friend, walk, walk in the light. Walk in the light, walk in the light, walk in the light of the Lord.

12. By Jesus’ love our wounds are healed, walk, walk in the light; the Father’s kindness is revealed, walk, walk in the light. Walk in the light, walk in the light, walk in the light of the Lord.

13. The Spirit lives in you and me, walk, walk in the light; His light will shine for all to see, walk, walk in the light. Walk in the light, walk in the light, walk in the light of the Lord.
