3 Example 1: Original Price = $4 New Price = $3 Find the Percent Change in the prices

4 Step 1: Plug in your values Original Price = $4 New Price = $3

5 Step 2: Simplify the fraction

6 Step 3: Convert the fractions to a decimal

7 Step 4: Convert the decimal to a percent by moving the decimal point 2 places to the right

8 Step 5: Decide if the price went up increase or if the price went down decrease Original Price = $4 New Price = $3 DECREASE

9 Step 6: Write the percent change with the description

10 Example 2: Original Price = $4 New Price = $5 Find the Percent Change in the prices
