3. Structure and Style of Exam uTWO hours. u Two parts: one on Term 1 and one on Term 2. l Term 1 part: choose 4 out of 5 questions, each worth 12% l Term 2 part: choose 4 out of 5 questions, each worth 13% u Leave time for extra checking at the end.

Material Needed for Exam uLecture material except when specified as optional or as an “aside”. uTextbook reading: l Textbook sections relevant to lecture material, and often specified in lecture slides. uAnswer Notes for exercises and tests. uAdditional Notes hanging from the module webpages, except for material specified as being optional. uYou should try to make sure you can do everything in previous exercise sets and tests, except for the “Fun” quiz at the start of Term 1. uYou will NOT be asked about relevance to CS.

5. Reminders on Studying uPrevious Exercise Sets and Tests: l Do all the questions on them repeatedly until you can do them confidently and smoothly. l Look at answers first if you need to, but then attempt the questions some time later. uExploit the textbook and its many exercises. uCreate your own exercises by varying the ones you’ve been given. uFeel free to email me, Dr Vickers or the demonstrators.
