2 WHY UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANT DESERVE EQUAL RIGHT AS OTHER CITIZENS THE ISSUES Humanitarian grounds  Human rights activist argues that there cannot be ‘illegal persons’ in the society. All people deserve equal treatment and dignity. Religious leaders also share the same sentiments.

3 Issues cont… In addition, according to Pew Research Center survey conducted in 2015, a solid majority (76%) of US citizen opine that migrants should be allowed to reside in united states as longs they can fully meet certain requirements

4 Issues cont.. Legal issues  To deport undocumented citizen, one need to follow the laid down legal procedure. Procedure includes;  Arrest by police-they are required by law to submit them to ICE within 48 hours lest

5 Issues cont they will have violated their rights.  Arraigning in court  Court ruling on whether deportation should be done or not

6 ARGUMENT AGAINST DEPORTATION  It is form of discrimination-this is an argument held by human rights watch  May cause untold suffering- human right watch (2006) observed that detention and subsequent deportation lead to family separation and loss of source of livelihood

7 Argument against deportation cont..  It is a costly unfair- human rights watch observed that the deportation laws in us are note ‘well checked’ are subject to misuse by the enforcers. They further noted that the whole process us quite costly to the government.

8 Cont..  Family separation- Human Right Watch (2016) observed that the forced deportation by the us authorities have caused lots of family separation with is a very important unit in a good society

9 CHALLENGES  Economic burden-there is a general feeling and in fact consensus that some of the migrants are just economic migrants. They place lot of burden to the government in provision of basic services and social amenities  Security-allowing migrant to settle may give an opportunity to terrorist to gain access to countries like the US.

10 Challenges cont..  Strained job market-with the rate of unemployment rising in the united states, the migrants will make the situation even dire given the fact that most of them are looking for job opportunities.  Communication-many migrant do not understand English's well. This causes communication challenges especially in work places

11 OPPORTUNITIES FOR MIGRANTS  According to voice of America (2015), most common jobs today in United states are states are held by migrant. Research done by Centre of Immigration (2015) revealed that immigrants today dominate most household jobs, construction and processing jobs.
