4 L. Tavian, TE/CRG, LSC 21.02.2014 Page 4 Repair plan for QRL compensators Thanks to VSC friends for collaboration ! K. Brodzinski

5 L. Tavian, TE/CRG, LSC 21.02.2014 Page 5 QRL complementary information Tightness test: Sector 3-4: will be validated when all compensators in s3-4 replaced, Sector 8-1: following request from M. Pojer we will combine the QRL test with test of repaired arc NCs – planned next week. New spares: First 5 new spares for line C was received at CERN last Monday (modified design with 3 plies ventilated and one tight). The tightness testing by VSC is underway. Two of them will be installed on the QRL at 32L4 and 22R4 The end of mechanical work is foreseen to be completed by 7 March 2014. K. Brodzinski

17 L. Tavian, TE/CRG, LSC 21.02.2014 Page 17 Commissionning of QSCA-8 : issue with 4 motors Commissionning : high vibration level Before LS1 Major overhaul - Detailed vibration analysis  balancing issue with the motors - Overhaul company intervention at CERN on 19/02/2014 - 4 motors to be sent back to Marelli for balancing improvement of the motor - To be carefully followed… S. Junker / O. Pirotte

21 L. Tavian, TE/CRG, LSC 21.02.2014 Page 21 Conclusion QRL and DFBA activities: good progress Major overhauling of compressors and motors on schedule but new issue with bad motor balancing to be carefully followed. Site maintenance activity: critical activity and action plan under study Other activities are progressing well Re-commissioning of cryogenic plants has started: New issue with motor vibration to be carefully followed. Flushing of sector S67 very encouraging  Quality of SMACC work.
