1. Geomatics – what is it? Geomatics is the discipline of gathering, storing, processing, and delivering geographic information, or spatially referenced information. It includes the tools and techniques used in land surveying, remote sensing, cartography, geographic information systems (GIS), photogrammetry, geography and related forms of earth mapping. It heavily relies upon Computer Science and ICT (Information and Communication Technology)

Our programme This Course will try: to cover a little bit of –Computer and software –Geodesy and cartography –Remote Sensing –Image Interpretation –GIS and Mapping to show their applications to land resources mapping and evaluation and to demonstrate the practical use of Open Source software tools
