2 Color Harmony: A pleasing combination of colors based on their respective positions on the color wheel. They are the easiest way to achieve success when planning color in a design. These color harmonies bring color together in a way that is pleasing to the eye.

3 WHAT ARE THEY? The 7 color harmonies are: Monochromatic Complementary Split-complementary Double-complementary Analogous Triadic Neutral

4 NEUTRAL Neutral color harmonies can be easier to live with than with vibrant color harmonies. The neutral “colors” are black, white, brown, tan, & gray. Often used as background colors in rooms because they blend well with other colors Touches of accent colors are usually added for interest

8 MONOCHROMATIC A single hue from the color wheel is used in different values and intensities The simplest color harmony

13 ANALOGOUS 2 to 5 hues next to each other on the color wheel that have to share a common color This color harmony works best when there is one dominant color and the others are used as accents

17 COMPLEMENTARY Two colors that are directly opposite each other on the color wheel. Because the colors contrast each other, they make the room appear brighter and more dramatic

26 TRIADIC Three colors that are equidistant on the color wheel. Using different values and intensities can lessen the contrast of the colors
